Biography
NPDV Bandara is a 4th-year medical undergraduate at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and an accomplished student-athlete, who is an Inter-University Weightlifting Champion and record holder. His research focuses on women’s health, sports medicine, and menstrual health among female athletes, particularly dysmenorrhea and coping strategies, aiming to inform targeted interventions. He is the President of the Medical Students’ Buddhist Association (MSBA), leading student wellbeing initiatives. With a strong interest in Women’s health, he aims to integrate sports physiology and reproductive health to improve long-term outcomes and contribute to evidence-based, culturally sensitive strategies for female athletes globally.
